Dallas-Fort Worth home prices rose at the second fastest rate in the country in June, according to analysts at Zillow.com
D-FW prices were up 10.5 percent from a year ago, according to the residential marketing website firm.
Only Seattle, with a 13.1 percent price gain, saw a more rapid increases in home prices from June 2016 levels.
Nationwide projects were up 7.4 percent. The national median home price in Zillow’s report topped $200,000 for the first time.
“The national housing market remains red hot and shows no signs of slowing, even as some local markets like the Bay Area have noticeable cooled,” Zillow Chief Economist Dr. Svenja Gudell said in the report. “But even in areas where the housing market has slowed, home values are at or very near peak levels, selection is limited, demand is high and competition is fierce.”
